After the second-wettest June on record, we had to follow it with the wettest July on record. Anywhere from 3" to over 13" of rain fell across North Central Texas on Wednesday night...Burleson had over 8"!! And we had another quick inch of rain this morning. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! :-)

I am so wet, it is so wet, Why in the world is God so upset? No use to moan, no use to fret, Have we seen the last of it yet??? The last of it yet...

Water is high, it is so high, I'm surprised it doesn't touch the sky, Records fall, I say, 'My, oh, my!' What I would give to be nice and dry, Nice and dry...

Rain, go away, please go away, You're welcome to fall another day, I'd like to play, it's been too gray, It's been wet since the last day in May!
I live on land, not on the sea, Sun, shine for me, please shine for me, Let this rain for now be history, That would be sweet freedom, liberty!
Let's see the light, that lovely light, Wouldn't that be a beautiful sight? Thumbs way up, yeah, that would be all right, I miss seeing the stars at night!
Houses do leak, boy, do they leak, 'Specially when flooded by Booger Creek, How long the rain, 'Enough!,' I shriek, I'm so wet, I'm surprised I don't squeak!
:o) I know these words well!! My home town used to flood all of the time, and still does. Sorta like God turns on the sprinklers and forgets about it over night :o) Booger Creek - that has to be one of the oddest names (save for I live near Nameless Creek)
Wet wet here but in about 3 weeks we be wondering where did all the water go and asking for more rain.
wish we could get mother nature to work better at times. I know ya folks have had it bad for sure but don't worry unless Noah stops by and ask if ya like to take a ride

Karla, I know how you feel! My skin is taking on the same texture as a sponge! *grin* Texas has always been fighting droughts this time of year and this year we are fighting torrential downpours and floods. No telling what Winter is going to produce this year...that's a scary frightful thought!

Delightful, Karla, and a relief! With the proliferation of "poetry" that states the obvious in matters of sex, I didn't know what to expect when I clicked this poem. I was afraid to peep. But I'm glad I did. What a pleasure to read a snappy write about the weather, which has been terrible here in Jersey. It's made me wonder if I'm back home in the midst of New Orleans thunderstorm season.

Send some of that rain over to Queensland Australia (where I am) as we are in a drought and have been for ages...most of Australia needs rain very badly indeed,it's so very dry here.
It's a funny old world isn't it?If God is upset with us humans,I don't blame Him at all.
we (the human race)need to care more for this amazing planet.
'I think us human's have caused most the weather problems by THE USE OF TOO MANY carbon gasses and oil pollution from cars and such...(present company (you, me and all on The Den) EXCLUDED from that statement ofcourse,wink wink!)Have you seen that movie 'The day after Tomorrow' Yet Karla? Try to see it if you can it explains a lot about the world's weird weather and why... and... it's based on FACT.
Also ,keep you feet dry,don't go drownin' and come to Australia if you're sick of the rain,O.Kay? I love your poem,it is thought provoking.Excellent!

This is wonderfully entertaining Karla even though I know THAT much rain is a very bad thing....it's been flooding in Maryland - fortunately here in Virginia our rains haven't been as torrential. You turned the rain into laughs though - this was really a great read!
This is a delightful parody of a not so delightful situation! I thought the rain was overwith too until this morning...FROG STRANGLER! OY! Boy, wouldn't I give for some DRIER weather and blue skies!! But the temps HAVE been delightful, that I could handle, but this rain isn't so nice on our bodies...OW! PAIN LINES! LOL Great write; BRAVA!
