Thanks, E.W., for letting me try out this format. Hope I did it well.

Tell me, why do children do
the things that children do?  Are they
possessed?  Like the time I

broke Gramma's bed, on Christmas
Eve, yet (Mom and Dad aren't home
and what harm can there be jumping

on the bed like a trampoline?).
So,
there I was, bouncing, bouncing, having fun
(backflip, WHEE!!), when suddenly CRACK!!!!!!

the bed collapsed (OH NO), one of the legs
broke off (Mom and Dad are going to

KILL me and forGET a visit from Santa
Claus, who only brings presents

to GOOD little girls).
What to do, WHAT
to do??  (Brace!  Yeah, Brace the bed,

these thick books oughta do--make the bed,
PERFECT, no one will know I've been
jumping on the bed, that's a no-no.)

It lasted four months, the bed, until one
night Gramma got in and it fell out from
under her (should have heard her scream).

I wouldn't have gotten into trouble had
I not put my name in every one of the
books...now why in the world did I do that??

Lol! Brings back memories. As children we even penned a song to "Jumping On The Davenport". Just adorable. Thanks, Karla!

even as a child you aspired to see your name as the author of a book or two ... it gave your incentive ...

This is so precious and so childlike in it's truthful innocence of the way children thinka and feel. You managed to reach back into those childhood memories we all have and pluck this special treat for us, thank you.

Your embracing sense of humor, coupled with your unparalleled style, Karla, are more than any one of us has a right to ask for! And the new format is really interesting...I'd say you scored a 1,000!

...I remember when we were quite young, taping one of my aunt's good lamps,[which my cousins and my brother and I caused to fall from its stand, by racing through the house at breakneck speed] with bandaids and brown paper - don't ask me! - except that it "matched better"...oh yeah, we got found out, too...we "got it" twice: one for the crime, and one for not just coming out and telling them what really happened! Remember getting it twice?....it works.

A delightful sharing, Karla. I am so undisciplined when it comes to writing, I would find this format a real challenge. You did very well obviously. Love and peace to you,

I did it!!! Good old Webster's Dictionary went missing until we moved.
Gosh but that was a mystery where I had a hand in sippling answers...but a smile sufficed.
Made me think of this when I haven't done so in years!
Great!

Lols...you should have told the truth from the beginning, then you
wouldn't have got into trouble later...oh ya...:)

Karla,

Brings back fun memories (though, at the time, it probably wasn't fun for YOU! LOL)! Glad you got a visit from Santa; he could have very easily left you a lump of coal for THAT stunt! LOL Very well done; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin sister, Karen Lynn. :D

Oh, Dear Karla ... thanks for the smiles! I'm sure that Gramma forgave you and then had a good laugh herself. She probably even told the story a few times!

Love & Light,
Joseph
