Feeeeeeling it today. LOL

Ankles stiffened, connected
to wrist and spine by bands of
pain.  Arthritis reminds self
not to move t  h  a  t way.  Hobbled,
leaning on trusted friend, the
cane, more than usual.  Hell
getting old.  Feeling my age
as I approach the year of
my birth on timid feet.  New
at this.  No experience
in this reaching forty eight:
who knew it would feel so ... what's
the word?  A N C I E N T.  Knees join neck
in teaching me a lesson
I won't soon forget:  it's not
that I'm not glad to be here,
because I am.  The question
is, must Teacher be so ... rough?

(c) 2007, Karla Dorman (6/16)

A really poignant write for me as I just turned 50--tough on our spirits these roughly taught lessons!

A question that we all ask occasionally, I've been painting this week, and I can tell the difference in the ease of bending, kneeling, and stretching each year! I have found the fish oil supplements do help alleviate some of the pain in my joints, and also helps my blood pressure! Oh well, we'll just all grow old together...a down to earth write my friend, one that most all can relate to!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Aging is just as much a challenge as surviving. I guess the worst part is remembering how bloody good you used to feel, and waiting for that feeling to catch up to the moment. I can empathize dear Karla. No one escapes the process.
Stand strong ...

Karla, hope your birthday will be without aches and pains...hate to let you know this but with each year pain seems to get worse. Old man Arthur doesn't have any mercy on anyone! Happy Birthday!

Karla --

That teacher is just getting started. Happy birthday coming up and you are as young as the vitality in your storms (not the devastation).

Mr. Arthur Itis does not discriminate, age not a factor. Sorry he came to visit you too, but age is a state of mind. If you think old, you are. If you think young, you are......

Be safe,
Karen

Ahhhhhhh, the painful "Lesson" of life! Hope things get better for you because living with pain can be such a weighty obstacle to a fulfilling life, as I've observed in a dear relative of mine.

I'm a teacher. I am not rough. I cannot say that I know the pain you feel since I don't have it but I empathize if I respectfully may. Love and healing to you,

Regis (Ton ami de la C-B, Canada).

:) I know the feeling, Karla! I really liked how you split up the letters in 'that'...you've expressed perfectly the feeling of making a movement only to have your body disagree with your choice and slowly acquiesce!

Love,
Susan
