Your last verse embodies a thought that we should hold close in tough times - it's always worse somewhere else, or we're better off than others. A great comparison to show perspective!

How wise, your father. Your poem reminds me of when I was a kid. My brother and I would whine to our dad that we were cold and he would reply "think warm thoughts. It's all in your mind." LOL!

Dear Karla, in Verkoyansk (Siberia) they had once minus 72 celsius which in our cold system translates as minus 97 fahrenheit.

That;s a huge freeze for me. I know when I was in Missouri the locks froze on my car, I couldn't open my doors..Man! It took over an hour just to get the key in the ignition. I couldn't do that again.
