people move listlessly

lovely shade of brown

it is so hard to breathe
with haze in the air

we look for any clouds
lately, they've been rare

tempers get much shorter
because we are hot

and people get meaner
they don't give a squat

katydids are chirping
way up in the trees

the air is barely stirred
there's hardly a breeze
