Gotta rant ... numbers driving me crazy! Feel like the kitty in the picture.

They say numbers don't lie. They obviously haven't seen mine ... do the math, everytime, come up with a different result. F r u s t r a t e d/ frustrating. 'Bout ready to pull my hair out. Why aren't they adding up? One minute, getting money back; the next ... owe?? Can't figure it out ...
Need a break. Write a poem. Nuts. Again, numbers giving me fits. Meter, sometimes. Rhyme, once in a while. Subject matter. Perhaps that's it ... let me go back and check. Dammit, still not coming out right. Wish I could write something worth reading. Perhaps taxes, easier. Maybe not ...
all I know is I'm thoroughly confused. Calgon! Where are - take me away!
People say I'm nuts but, I LOVE numbers, doing taxes and tedious work. Breathe deeply, in and out, free your mind of all but the questions and answers ... use two different calculators to verify your figures and viola--DONE!
In 'business' we were taught how to do our taxes. I was a freshmen in high school and have done mine/ours ever since. Been offered jobs doing taxes but, hey, some people aren't honest and no way do I wish to take on the U.S. Government!

I Know the feeling. With bme it's an old employer who is lazy in getting me my W2...Lamar Outdoor. Well, with the tax rebate you should be good for $600 this year!

LOL... Do yanks have to work out your own taxes... Yikes if so...
We both need to learn to count the blessings that God's given to us. We may not have much money, but we have a roof over our heads, food in our tummies, each other. We also have God. What more can we want, need?? I know it's frustrating; I wish I could do more to help you, but untill approved for SSDI, I can't. That's the most frustrating aspect of this whole deal. You're trying your best; that's all that matters. God understands, and so do I.
And as far as your poetry, every word you write is worth reading. God gave you a gift. Don't throw it away!

As a mathematician I treat number like they were unruly teenagers, trying to understand what the hell are they saying and why they cgange their minds so often.
The heavy numbers I treat like they were virginal spinsters waiting for the right equation to come along.
And then...I cross my fingers.
Just don't put that extremely worried looking kitty in that tub with you and Calgon! And may those numbers finally add up in your favor. (WHen you get them that way, hurry up and send that paperwork in.)
