now i know i shouldn't be here,
perhaps, methinks, it's much too late...
perhaps i should have changed my mind
before loading at the entrance gate...
when my friends called me a chicken,
they dared me a double dog dare...
"you won't ride this ride," they all jeered,
"biggest coaster in the world? you're scared!!!!"
and now we're climbing up the hill,
and i don't see the end in sight...
is there any way off this thing??
oh, shit...damn!! i can't believe the height--!!
AHHH!! why is this thing slowing down?
i thought rollercoasters were fast...
i don't think i'm gonna like this...
this ride's gonna kick me in the *aaaaaass*!!!!
we're screamin' down the other side,
we're kickin' into hyperdrive...
how much longer can this thing last???
i hope i get off this ride alive!!!
down the hill, and up another,
this damn thing throws me side to side...
crap!!, i'm comin' outta my seat!!
whose idea was it to ride this ride??
i know that my life is over,
i didn't think i'd die like this...
better start confessin' my sins,
as we plunge down another abyss.
my face is a mask of pure terror,
tears are now streamin' from my eyes...
riding partner screams, "ain't this fun??"
as i feel my stomach contents rise...
needless to say, i hurled and hurled,
and lots of folks were pissed at me...
so thankful when the ride ended,
when one ride and rider disagreed!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
*thank God* this has only happened to me
once. (and once was enough, thank you
very much!) it wasn't the biggest coaster
in the world, but the seats were reversed,
so we were riding backwards...i don't do
backwards very well. :)
i still like rollercoasters. except the mantis.
i don't do stand up rollercoasters either. :)

Karla, I remember when i was young (yes, they had roller coasters then...lol) I loved roller coasters, I also loved standing at the top of a ski run and looking almost straight down...Then I grew up! Roller coasters are fun but so is slamming your finger into a door!...lol Your poem reminded me of the reason I don't ride any more!
Karla??? Is this what I come back to? This is one of your best and I loved it.

absolutely hysterical write!! l laughed my way through this entire thing; i could just imagine the poor person's face (especially when he puked all over the others!!). glad that has never happened to *ME*(although, when i ride the wicked twister, you *KNOW* i won't be eating anytime before i ride it, or **UURRRPPPP*). *NASTY*!!!!!!!!!!! love, a fellow roller coaster junkie (and your twin), karen lynn.
