Storm inspired poetry ...

Image (c) 2007, Karla Dorman

Poem Artwork

... awakened by the sound
of bowling balls, thudding
overhead:  thunder.  The
angels are having fun,
seems like.  Strike, strike, oh, no!
Gutterball!!  Guess one had
butterfingers, just like
me.  Know how he feels, poor
angel.  Least he didn't
throw backwards or fall down
like I've been known to do -
pray God won't clip his wings!

Very nice imaginative poem, Karla. Reading you is easy on the heart and mind. I used to tell my children during lightning storms that God was just making ozone.....Jerry

LOL, Butterfingers.... so my devastatingly low score HAS a name.
I like this Karla, but I imagine a heard of passed horses thundering the clouds from above, running, playing, and bucking as they tear up God's pastures.
I guess when those guys take a break from running, it's bowling time.
Love,
Becca~

HaHaHa...Karla. I'd heare, too, that when it thunders it's just the bowling ball striking the pins! :o) We've been having enough of these thunderous events, but soon the 'season' will pass...soon!

Hee Hee!!! Not to worry about that Angel - his antics are the high humor on those great lanes in the sky (God says it really gets boring - setting pins all the time).

Oh No! The bowling alley seems full tonight. I recall go to bed during thunderstorms and laying quietly. There were eight of us and my grandmother would talk about bowling and angels and somehow we got quiet to listen as she animated the storm. I miss her.
Blessings and love,
Susan
