One last poem before (Y)Ike! comes knockin'. Thanks for the prayers ...

Poem Artwork

... First rainbands wetting us, the
wind not far behind.  Hurricane
(Y)Ike! getting ready to beat
down the door.  Not answering:
hear you knockin' but you can't
come in.  Worse than one of
those salesmen selling magazines:
no one invited you.  Go away.

My prayers are for you and Karen and everyone in in the path of Ike. I like the light-heartedness of this poem on such a serious subject. Thank you for sharing, and hope you, Karen, and everyone there is safe.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and who love you too, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Right on, Karla! Salesmen have to make a living (I suppose),
but Ike is an evil interloper. Don't like Ike. -gene.

Leave it to Karen to spit in (Y)ike's eye! She is so fiesty :-)

Prayers remain wrapped all around you two.

All night long at the hotel, I sat on the CNN coverage as (Y)ike made his force known. It was said that many Galveston Bay residents may have elected to stay and tough it out. One crusty old guy who lived out on the island part said he was going to stay and see that nothing happened to his property. I am afraid that many who stayed behind may not ever be able to make that decision again. Bless them.

Hugs and safety to you and Karen :-)

Ted
