... Feel like: well, wadded-up tissue... ....

Image (c) 2005, Karla Dorman

Poem Artwork

Someone is using my head
as a basketball, dribbling it
down court:  thump/thump:
f o u l.  Didn't you see it?!?

Blindsided.  Sinuses caught
it between the eyes, quickly
followed by nose which is
running freely at the free

throw line:  no extra points
for me.  Outplayed by cold
germs, they're racking up the
score along with the amount

of Kleenex, used.  Feel like:
well, wadded-up tissue ...
goin' back to bed:  game
is nothing to sneeze at.  =]

(c) 2008, Karla Dorman (10/25)

Karla,
How cleverly and well this is conceived, constructed and delivered, a tonic and remedy in itself.

... now there's an offer... tucking with with darlin Felix! No hot water bottles needed and a chance to trade germs... Ach well, guess we all get a little fevered when temperatures soar. Sounds like you need a good SlamDunkDaFunk of an oatmeal cookie in a hot chocolate milk, Karla. Keep flushing out the kidneys and upping the vits - you'll be back to Meadowlark in a wee moment.... xx

Karla:

Comparing a cold to a rock'em, sock'em basketball game is pure genius! I am sorry you have a code in the node, but to write such whimsical lines when you are sick is awesome! Adorable write about a not so fun epxerience; hope you feel better soon so you can leave the poor, abused Kleenex alone! (And you'd BETTER not give your code to me; I doooooooooooooooooooon't want it!) LOL And that poor pitty....AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!! Very well penned, Karla; brava!

(((HUGS))) (long-distance, of course!) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :D *purring at the pitty*

I'm glad I discovered the secret to preventing colds and flus. Haven't had one for more than four years. Hope you feel better soon. That's a nice little poem to express your sniffles and sneezes.
