Poem Artwork

Blasted critter.  Sitting at
the picnic table with my
friend and neighbor, a
yellow jacket lands on her
--- she's highly allergic to
them.  'Get it off, getitoff!!,'

she screams.  I pick it up
by the wings, flick it away
--- thought it flew off.  No ---
plant elbow down on the
table, it zaps me twice
before I can say, 'Ouch!!'

One Benadryl later, elbow
still red and swollen.  What
I get for putting body parts
down on things that bite.
Least it wasn't the nipple
(what happened to my

step mom) or the tongue
--- that happened to a
friend of mine, who drank
a bee instead of Mountain
Dew.  Could have been
worse --- my brother.  Ran

over a nest of hornets with
the lawnmower.  He earned
a trip to the ER for that one.
They drilled him good.  Been
27 years since I got stung ---
forget how much it hurts!

Pure cure this is to cut a garlic in half and rub it where you got stung, it releives it immediately. Don't laugh, it really works. Soprry you got stung Karla. Fred has been a week trying to kill of a Hornets nest up inside of the siding on the corner of our house. The little buggers keep coming in through the panel box in my computer room. Hope the sting goes away soon.

You made me think of when I was little, my mom had worn a pair of pants to the doctor and had them on for only a few hours. She put them out on the clothesline to air out, and when she went to put them on again, after awhile, she began to scream....there was a bee inside her pants and he had stung her thigh! Sorry you got stung, Karla, and I hope you're feeling better!

Ouch! Know that hurts too and I hope you will get better fast!. Happened to my brother last summer when he was on his riding mower. Two weeks in the hospital, got 7 stings in and around his eys. When my first son, age 7 1/2 sat down on a log in the brush behind the house he sat on a nest. Wrapped him in a blanket, rushed him to the hospital and bees were still coming out when they took off his little shirt. OUCH!

Be always safe,
Karen

I once had a bee crawl inside my ear!! Crept up and down the ear-canal for 20 minutes. Finally crawled out and my friend flicked it off with a towel. No stings; but F--K!! what a scare. I was about 12 when that happened. Speedy recovery to you and all that!

. Jerry: OUCH. My brother ran over a nest of hornets once, while mowing the grass. They were ... let's just say, not amused. Didn't help he left the mower on, vibrating the ground over the nest. They stung him over 100 times, crotch to toes. Earned a trip to the ER for that escapade.

I ran over a nest of yellow jackets and the flat covered me up. I was half naked, shirt off, on the ground screaming and trying to get the damn things off me. Thought I was going to die for about two days. We counted forty-six stings, but you know we missed some. Kicked my ass that day.
