american idol--NOT!!!! (fictional)

i've practiced for months, a few special songs
over and over, and my fine voice is strong,

i've got it, baby--i'm the next big star!
i'm the new diva, and i'm gonna go far,

y'all just watch me now--and learn from the best--
don't have to worry...i'm gonna ACE this test,

i'm gonna be it--got the attitude--
i don't mean to brag, i don't mean to be rude!

(TRYOUTS)

i'm ready to start, i can't back out now--
wipe a bit of sweat that's runnin' down my brow,

face the three judges, who'll decide my fate--
but i'm not worried--i *know* that i'll be great!

i open my mouth, and my song bursts free--
the next thing i hear, "what a cacophony!!"

simon cowell cringed, "good Lord, what was THAT???
who's stepped on your tail? you're hissing like a CAT!!!!"

simon is on a roll--"who's dog is dying?
listening to you, i want to start crying!

"are you in pain? do you need some medicine?
you'll get relief from the agony you're in!

"your voice is the worst! it's an awful thing...
i want to know this: who told you you could sing??"

paula and randy, they rolled on the floor--
"stop--stop--oh, our sides!! we can't take it no more!!"

i'm booed off the stage...embarrassed as hell
i'm such a bozo...i thought i would do well!

that's when i wake up--wake up with a scream!
a nightmare...thank God, it was only a dream!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

the second season of "american idol" begins to-
night. last season, as you know, kelly clarkson
of burleson, texas (where i live!) won. *grins*

me--i'm no kelly clarkson. not everyone in bur-
leson is vocally talented.

now, karen, she would do well on the show...
she sings like loretta lynn. REALLY!! she's
great. (so is loretta.)

me, i sing like...you don't wanna know. :0

let's put it this way..."who let the dogs out???"

(((HUGS))) and love,

karla. :)
