it seems i have misplaced my brain
it's gone--i think it has disappeared
i don't remember the last time i saw it
i think it was sometime last year

whose face is looking back at me
the one in the mirror is all old and wrinkled
that's not me, the face that i remember
this one has bags, sags and all those crinkles!!

where did my brunette hair go
where once was brown is silvery gray
there's too much silver to try to dye it
i didn't look at all like this yesterday

where did my trim, fit body go to
everything's *UGH* flabby, i'm all baggy
diets do not work, i hate to exercise
look like a worn out mattress--lumpy and saggy

where is the energy i once had
i'm so  T  I  R  E  D and exHAUSted
i'd love to have a fraction of it (i'd feel great)
by old age, my youth has been accosted

and what's with these new aches and pains
every day, something wears out or breaks down
who said getting older was getting better
obviously, whoever said that was a clown

what started this mess?  someone assumed i was old
and they gave me a senior citizen discount
i am not even forty five years of age
and now my depression is starting to mount
