The reason it's called a "Blue Norther"
is because that's what color Texans
turn when one blows through--an arctic
cold front preceeded by warmer than
average temperatures. :) One came
through here yesterday.
the other day, we were nearly eighty it was lovely--i enjoyed it, greatly what a diff'rence from one day to the next this is why i am writing in blue text

if we're lucky, it's in the low forties i'm wearin' my flannels, not my shorties :) this happens a couple of times each year but it's so cold...and i'm freezin' my rear

you'd think i'd learn to prepare for the cold but no! texans are stubborn. they're quite bold no wonder ev'erbody's got the 'flu dang weather changes--ah--ahh--ahhh--ahhhh-CHOOOOO!!!!

I'd change our 4 degrees for your double degrees any time :)! We've got a winter storm watch, loads of snow on the ground and the flakes are changing to freezing rain. Move over, Texas here I come :)!

Rarely do we see here in Somalia temperatures falling below 20 degrees centigrade. It is hot and dry most of the year. Rains do come on seasonal patterns but never snow falls. It is like hearing from a different planet when such weather conditions are reported or written about. Anyway your powerful poems always inspire me to write more.

You are too funny, Karla... I've experienced something like those way too often... living it subzero temps too many years... CA is a nice break although, it's been cold here lately too... find your favorite blanket and a cup of hot lemon water and honey, and you'll be nice and toasty...love and hugs to you..

So funny, Karla! My friend of 36+ years, Anita, called me today from Ft. Worth. It was 70 there yesterday and in the low twenties today. Of course, we here in Washington State are breaking all kinds of records, too: here in Tahuya (Olympic Peninsula) the last week, 4" of snow, then snow dusting, temps as low as 15 degrees and a massive storm moving in about 4 in the morning. It will dump anywhere from 6" to a foot of snow in our area. This is sooo uncommon! Great write! ~~Bonnie Q
Hey, the actual artic cold has not come thru here yet...am waiting and have gotten a few things more insulated and brought in my extra warm blankie I had left in the car...now with that and my down comforter I should be quite warm enough, I hope..till i get up out of bed to take a middle of the night leak an am not wearing nuthin, LOL! hope it passes thru ur area fast, not so lucky are we up here in zoojersey...Peace as always, Ed & Rufuz

Low 40's F, that's summer here, I found working over in Aberline farto hot at 98,and 100% humididity, eeek,andto topit off bitten by a brown recluse,10 yrs on still got the scare...
Karla, you gotta' blame SOMEONE up north; they left their SOUTH door open, and the north wind came SOUTH!! LOL
Cute, cute write; seems like our Texas blood has thinned out (yours worse than mine; I can handle the cold a LOT better than you can, but wish we didn't have to put up with these achy-breaky JOINTS!); hell, I'd MUCH rather be cold than HOT!
