A sweet little chicadee and I made friends it's been five years now, I am writing a story about the little tyke, when I thought of this poem.

This precious little creature

I call it angel face

Its treasured little feature

Are feathers in its face

Of white and black and grey

Look at me I am beautiful

That’s what it has to say

Just a little handful

Yet it is its odd beauty

Makes it stand out from the rest

Sort of strange little cutie

Different sort of dressed

Little white wings

Come down around its cheeks

Where others have just normal things

Around their little beaks

It was so different and so cute

And so very shy

Others to it rude and brute

When chased, away it fly

It was lonesome on a little twig

Reaching out for food

But as soon it reached my hand, the others at it would pick!

Yet it was so good

It was bitter cold

It was hungry too

Sweet talked it into the fold

The others I would shoo

Twisted and contorted

Stood with hands outstretched

Their pecking soon aborted

From two hands food now fetched

Being cute and odd myself

I felt its little heart

Could speak to me itself

And thereof then took part

I named it angel face

For it was fitting

It was all sweet and lace

Especially when sitting

Every day I feed it well

Organic walnuts

And peanuts without shell

No ifs or buts

Many moons now lit the sky

Since we now friends

Not afraid to me to fly

It knows it’s brutes from gents

First by others was abused

Just for being odd

Of not belonging was accused

But yet belonged to God

Her big friend found, that’s me!

Lets the others know she’s strong

And sends the others flee

And lets me know it’s to her I do belong

Met Eddy in the woods some day

And told him of my tale

He laughed, and said you have a way

Odd knows odd, it doesn’t fail!
