An Elf & An Imp

An unlikely pair
an Elf & Imp
as they drank their grog
they danced & primped
they were as the fog
An unlikely duo
they sang a song
in an advanced beat
they were rhythm & melody
they pranced & danced
like phantoms they flew
in a mist
in a cosmic cloud
sweetly renewed

An unlikely pair
held each other apart
without touching
they flittered and fluttered
spinning as a pirouette
lightly coming together
they proclaimed their love
the imps in wooded glen
the elves in mystical forest
dancing the fairies song
where the fleet footed ones
alight on furtile ground
shedding the old for a new skin
manifestation of spring abounds
the marriage shall begin
