If I never sleep again,
Will it really matter that you lie to me?
These eyes are already red and bleary
Will it really matter if you cry for me?
When death comes, I tell you now...
I will not sleep
He'll beat down my door and drag me out
But it will not be to lay me low
When death comes it will be my awakening
I will remember my wings and fly above you
There is no grave deep enough,
No box strong enough to keep me down
When my bell tolls...I will not sleep
I will finally be truly awake
Perhaps I will see you for what you really are
Just mountain in my path
On my sacred journey to the stars
Just a tear that had to be shed
Before I could open my eyes and witness the day
And all of these memories that I've bled
Will become your ball and chain as I fly away
When death comes I will not sleep
I'll fall in love with sweet release
You cannot hurt a lifeless heart
You cannot control the staggered way it beats
Silent lips cannot cry for you day and night
Silent eyes cannot burn with the memory of your face
So do your best while I sleep on earth
While you can still touch me through and through
Take each blow for what it's worth
Because death comes and I'll not remember you.

Tragedy has a way of borrowing our sleep. But the memories pain will fade and be replaced with the joy of remembering

April,
There is so much truth in the brutal pains that our clouded minds try to let escape everyday, but most of us continually try to hold it back. This was an excellently written piece April, a final exit to the demons that some of us have trouble releasing , I bow to your talent,,, Charlie

I do know the feeling sweetie. It all gets better, promise. The there's the saying about a poet needing 'her' pain, I do at times too. Janet xoxoxo
