sing
while all I've fought for falls down around my ears
sing your little heart out
and I'll sit here choking on my tears
sing for me
and feed this aching in my chest
sing my little songbird
while he sits at my back and throws his hidden daggers
sing into the small hours of the night
sing my fat lady sing.

I always know when I have read a good poem, because a line or two stay with me for a while, and dammit 'sing my fat lady sing' was going through my mind all night! I don't know whether to thank you for that, but I guess I must, since you moved me (clearly). Seriously, love it.
As painful as the catharsis is, think of how hideous you would feel without the gift to release the emotions!
