HARVEST MOON: When the Harvest Moon rose over Falmouth, Maine, tonight, onlookers were amazed. "It was intensely orange, like a great big pumpkin," says John Stetson who helped local students C. LaCroix and C. Miller snap this picture:
Harvest Moonshine

Upwards I peer,
what a magnificent sphere.
It was brilliantly lit,
it took away my breath a bit.
The powerful Harvest full moon,
teaches change and seedlings bloom.
illumination of growing,
all the seeds of knowing
that harvesting will bring
enlightenment to full swing.
Empowered by the Moon Shine
I feel that the world is mine.
I am forever in its embrace,
standing here, full of grace,
feeling it's powerful pull
I love when the moon is so full!
This Harvest Moon is quite intense
it takes away all my defense.
I am allowing the natural beauty
and a call to my moon priestess duty.
Grant this world some love and peace,
Make this hatred and war forever cease,
Reap the harvest that peace does sow,
on all of us here down below!
author's notes: I know I am always speaking of peace, love, and light, but gosh darn it, don't we need it? This Harvest Moon is so beautiful, why not feel its magnetic powers and allow yourself to be harvested into a peaceful existence!

A full moon is nice, but your picture of the harvest moon - incredible! Ours was white illuminating the night. The silence and beauty of your poem is a perfect match for the moon as it rises.

A beautiful poem, Amber, and I think its quite alright to mention peace, love and light. The world certainly needs more of it. I bet there were lots who were exercising "love" while they gazed up at that beautiful sight. My harvest moon here lit up the sky like daylight, but t was white amidst the dark blue skies. Beautiful though.
Okey, love thyself as you love the IRS man auditing you and giving you a hard time...

Everyone should reap this harvest of peace. It is a shame that the "bad seed" can not be thrashed before the harvest.
