Can Anything Else Go Wrong?
Woke up this morning, head hurt like hell
Air conditioner went out last night
Not such a good thing in Arizona when it’s 112.
Slow as a snail showering and getting dressed
Was late to work for taking so darn long.
Tried to be on time, ran through some signs.
Not a good thing to do, this ticket is mine.
Can anything else go wrong?
Got to work, boss was at the door, hands folded
Over, tapping his foot on the floor. The first thing
He said was not “Good Morning”
It was, “You’re late, where have you been?”
I just said, “I’m sorry” wasn’t going to explain it to him.
Went inside to make the morning coffee,
Couldn’t do it. That was all gone. I need my
Morning coffee!
What else could go wrong?
I was working on my credit card list,
There were so many items, it was one
Big mess. Getting calls from angry people all day
My boss wanted this and that, and of course,
“I want it on my desk by the end of the day.”
Finally, time to go home, and see my love
Stopped by the bank on the way home, couldn’t get
Any money out, I was overdrawn!
What else could go wrong?
I was finally home, the A/C was fixed.
I kissed my husband, who said,
“How was your day?”
Not wanting to go into that, I said
“It was fine”. I looked into his big blue
Eyes. He smiled and gave me a hug.
Finally, finally, nothing was wrong.
