I can't tell you what this is about. I was sleeping when I wrote it.

My mind is blocked, I cannot think
Subjects galore to pen my prose
But my lazy pen just lays there and snores.

Beautiful thoughts lie in my head, they
won’t jump on the paper, they probably
gave up and went to bed.

Three poems I did write, but my heart wasn’t
In them, nor my head.   In fact, today, I
Officially claim my imagination dead.

I wrote my prose, it offends the nose, something like this one does.

Don’t worry, I haven’t died, this little thing is
Just a bookmark for when I come back to life.

I’ll get back to me, one day you’ll
see. My pen will thrive, we’ll all know
I’m alive. Today I think I’ll sleep.

I can relate, Mary. I keep a digital recorder under my pillow because my inspiration often comes in the middle of the night and if I did not record my thoughts, they'd be long gone come morning light. Love and best wishes,

Regis

Imaginative way to write about "writer's block" -- something we all experience. At least you actually push yourself to tell your story -- and it's a great one at that -- lots of inspiration to keep trying.

Perhaps your muse is only napping and you and s/he will awaken refreshed and raring to go. I think a lot of 'us' can relate to this one! Well done. Best, Elizabeth

I know that feeling well!

Hello Mary,

Just what we need today! I did this after two typhoons and canceled orders from customers. Fretting adds to face lines and upsets my mood, and sleep is bliss. I'd say this is a very nicely written poem, by one who's "sleep-writing" (joke). Nice bookmark.

Wow.. you sure hit the nail on the head with this...at least for me... sometimes no matter what I have swimming around in my mind...it feels like there is wonderful seed, but yet I can't seem to get a nice flower from it after I've inserted it into the ground... so... for those of us who go thru this... kudo's... this is a strong write however, and I like it. lindalaw

Lovely point of view, Mary, and the second stanza really strong, its humour infectious, and the final stanza just right.
