Four Yellow Eyes (Revised)

Never go near strange houses

A cool October evening many 
years ago, on that frosty night
where the ghosts and goblins go. 
They knocked on doors, demanding
treats, but the trick was on them, one
that couldn’t be beat.
 
For as they knocked on the door
And waited for their treat, the horror
That ensued next, they never
Wanted to see! They ran from the
House, and do you know why?
In the window sat four yellow eyes.
 
After they left, the witch called
Out to her four yellow eyes. Okay,
Down from the window, they’re
All gone now.
 
She then gave them something to
Eat and petted her two black
cats.  A job well done, her faithful friends.
They deserved a special treat.

This is so funny and nostalgic. It reminds me when I was young trick or treating that was so special and unfortunately, is not safe today for children. Good old yellow eyes. Just like my Sassy.
