Desert in the summer is so barren and brown.  And if you look at your feet,
Steam is coming from the ground.    They say you can fry an egg on the sidewalk in the desert heat.   Nah, someone made that up. But when I tried, lo and behold, eggs sunny side up!

Some say it can't be that bad.  After all, everyone knows the desert is a dry heat, something you can stand.  Now who told that lie?
For if that's true , why is water dripping in my eye?

Many people wonder why people take with them oven mitts where they go.
Try and open and a car door without them, you really don't want to know.

Some say it can't be that bad with a 30 degree drop at night.  But that really isn't so.  For If it's 120 in the day than at night 90 is the low!

If you're a desertrat, 90 is not so bad.  Come from a normal part of anywhere, 90 degrees is just plain sad.

So if you live some place where it gets a little warm, don't forget what I've told you here, and just be glad you're there!
