I close my eyes while lifting my head up to the sky .

Visions of sunflowers immediately flood my thoughts

as a gentle breeze wraps itself around me like a warm embrace.

Birds, too countless to mention, sing a morning

chorus and I smile as a rooster crows out of tune

off in the distance.

I drink in the sweet smell of sea air as a tear escapes my eye

and think, “how I love this place” – although in three days I

will be leaving, heading back to the din and confusion.

I wrestle with the difficulty of returning to the noise of such

a grand city…but for now, I am here…thoughts need travel

no further, for I am truly blessed beyond measure.
