A small vintage of wine dribbles down sullen cheeks,
While a single tear creates a river with simple creeks,
And danger lurks under ever pebble churned in sand,
Yet, the young woman is barren and at his command.
Overhead, a bird’s call echoes eerily in the first light,
Causing shimmering reflections to take mystic flight,
Yet, while resting, elbow upon knee and head on hand,
A ripple of time past flutters steadying her terse stand.
Across the open water, a wee fawn approaches to drink,
And she watches, guarding her ideas, no thought to think,
Yet she is softened by the gentleness of this green land,
And all of man’s wanderings that have come beforehand.
Undercover with eyes veiled, she watches a wildcat stalk,
Not aware of the native woman behind with a tomahawk,
Yet all is fair in the food chain from nature to farmhand,
Except for those who control what happens in fairyland.
A snapping twig signals his approach from just behind,
And a stinking blow, landed quickly, is meant to remind,
All, that the protection of the land can’t meet his demand,
To provide another blessed event for his native fatherland.
Well trickster, you are writing esoteric messages these days and doing it very well;-)But what else should we expect from a wily witch! would love to smash one of those pies in your mug for making me hungry!;-) etw;-)...
