The beauty of a moment
Lies deep beneath the surface,
Perfect lines within the floating glass
Darts and dashes upon the snow.
Who lies before me or behind
Is irrelevant to the oneness.
To spend a day in my own backyard
Is heaven-sent.
To enjoy the moments that pop in and out
Of daily living,
Always there but never really noticed.
Connected,
Just like Whitman, Thoreau, and Emberson described,
"The transparent eyeball" searching for its soul;
Forgotten lessons that remind us all
The purpose of our living and the course of our taking.
Have we lost the basic instinct that is connected?
Have we forgotten the sense of being,
The taste of sweetness,
The sounds of silence,
The image of truth?
It is always there
And always has been,
Right before us
In the beauty of a moment,
In Connection with the soul of nature,
We find ours.
