Yes, and it shall only get worse. Due to the fact that the US no longer produces, job losses continue to mount and credit has been cut-off to Main Street, the real economy will continue to implode. So then we move from plutocracy straight into kleptocracy, as is what usually happens during the fall of empires. The ruling class, no longer able to skim profits off the working class, will now have to resort to out and out theft to keep the money rolling in. In other words, like your poem conveys, more and more taxation. How do you sell heavier taxation to an already beleagured working class? You guessed it. The tree-hugger, phony global-warming, save-the-earth movement. They will pass crap and trade (the next gigantic derivatives bubble) and on December 7th of this year in Copenhagen, Obama (under orders from his puppet masters) will sign the USA onto the UN Climate Treaty. This will be the final massive transfer of wealth from the US and other Western nations into the Third World. Then they will institute the Carbon Tax, which will they use to fund their world governmental bodies. The plan is to actually get us, incrementally, to about 80-85% taxation. I have a feeling there'll be a revolution if we ever get that close, even if it's just me. Enjoyed your poem.

It doesn't have to rhyme to be right, Lori. You know, I work hard, I give a much as I can to charity and I try to be kind, but to give so much to those who don't care to do anything more than stand with their hand out and mouth open goes against my ethics and against everything this country was founded upon. I work 12 hours a day and about 5 of those go to take care of people who sit on a couch, watching TV, wasted on booze or drugs or just too lazy to do anything to support themselves or their families. They are pathetic, and perhaps we are too, for continuing to work enough to support these boils on the butt of humanity. Taking from the worker to give to the bum is not Democracy, it isn't even Communism. Under Communism, if you don't work, you will die, by one method or another. We either need to move a little more left of center and become Communists, or a little more to the right and regain the Capitalist Republic status that made us a strong, viable and wealthy Country. I vote for the latter. I have never wanted or expected my government to take care of me from the cradle to the grave and I don't think anyone else should either. Unemployed people should be willing to take whatever job they can to get by, not believing that a certain job is beneath them. Perhaps, they should consider working two or more different jobs until they can get back on their feet. You will not see people who come here from Asia, India or the Middle East living like welfare squatters. They work, sometimes several jobs plus a paper route to bring in that little bit extra. What I love about this country is that I, like all other Citizens,have the right to make our own way, in life. You got my rile up, Lori. Kudos.
