Frivolous purple petunias drape lazily

Against the ramrod golden bursts of marigolds

Leaning away in the light breeze.

Hallelujah!

Feathered lace of pepper trees nestles gently

Into the showy pink blooms of oleander

Intermixing colors to the passing gaze.

Hallelujah!

Maroon-leaved, the plum trees spike pointedly.

They form a triangle, silhouetted by wispy clouds,

Creating a link between earth and sky.

Hallelujah!

Rambunctious children share the fountain’s splash,

Tired parents rest in the softness of twilight.

Tranquility descends on rushed lives.

Hallelujah.
