Jell-o Peach Cloud Supreme

A whimsical remembrance of youth & friendships...

The soothing sighs of setting sun
were whispered in the wind,

while gentle shadows settled on

my dusk-draped mountain home-

it brought to me sanguinity

and mellowness of soul

The shallow sunlight
lent it’s light to the valley scene below,

but soon the light was swallowed by

the mountain’s mammoth mouth-

leaving me to contemplate our last earthly embrace,

when all my fears were swallowed

by the warmth within your arms

The misty moonlight murmured
sweet melodies to me,
and whipped cream clouds
topped hazy hues
of Jell-o peachy colors-

as darkness settled in to sleep
the melded colors melted
into yellow moonlit hues

I embraced the rich dessert
that finished off the evening,
reminding me of time far spent
in places now so distant-
where basking in your company
was the evening treat,
and we nick-named the setting sun
Jell-o peach cloud supreme

What a fond memory and wonderful poem to commemorate it. Your description of that beautiful evening sky as a confection is very unique and priceless.

Uniquely delightful. The words are well blended with the imagery thus making the perfect setting of the, now named, jell-o peach. i think jello is what we call jam?

This is so visual, Chryssa, and imaginatively so, stirring empathetic emotions which accord with your own. A lovely and well-crafted piece. xx

I love his, Cryss. It reminds me of recent poppies and other warm and all-embrasive miracles. I especially love how soft and whispering this is. It reminds me of your poem "of flowers fair" where you say "...lips which wore the shade of summer's words/ that touched my heart like finger tips". That was breathlessly (breath fully?) wonderful. And this one has that same soft, wistful beauty. Such a gorgeous thing/memory of beauty. --Charlie

I almost missed reading the three remaining verses, there was so much space between the first and second verse. Ah, I see that you did edit your poem and deleted all those spaces.

Memories can beautiful, as are yours . .. Then again some are not so beautiful.
