THE SEA IS MY LOVER
WHO WELCOMES ME TO HER BREAST
HOW JOYFUL HER SIREN SONG
ENTICING ME TO REST.

WHEN THE SONG WAS OVER
HER MASSIVE WAVES WET THE SKY.
WITH SCREAMS SHE TORE AT MY SHIP
DESPERATE FOR ME TO DIE.

WHEN I SURVIVED HER STORM
THE SEA SOFTLY MURMURED LOW.
LOVE ME TRUST ME HOLD ME CLOSE.
THEN I WILL LET YOU GO.

I SMILED AT THIS LIE
BUT MY HEART WILLED ME TO STAY.
I KNEW SHE WOULD DESTROY ME
AS SHE KISSED ME THAT DAY.

I COULD’NT HELP MYSELF.
MY GREAT PASSION FOR THE SEA
HAS BEEN BURIED DEEP WITHIN
ME FOR ETERNITY.

Raymond,
This is a beautiful poem and a lovely metaphor in the comparision of the sea to a lover. Both can run wild; yet both, in a way, can also be tamed.
Best wishes,
Jill

Terrorforming Your Environment by RickthePoetWarrior

Never to leave well enough alone our attempts at managing our society, culture, and environment are recycled, re-used, and just generally regurgitated
