An Encore For The Dragonfly

She had to dance ,

she had to fly ,

before the day she had to die

and when her dance was nearly done

her wings were burned up by the sun



And when she fell down from the sky

they asked were is that dragonfly ,

the one who danced so gracefully ,

where has she gone ,

where can she be .



Beyond the secret garden there ,

they all began to look for her ,

underneath the Dandelion trees

and inside hives of bumble bees .



No one could find the dragonfly ,

until she opened up her eye .

She had taken a long long rest

inside a lovebirds cosy nest .



When she awoke her wings had grown

then on a breeze softly blowing

she danced again for all to see

her encore for eternity .
