I love the color purple
Its so free of implications
That plague the other colors
Yellow always makes us think
Of things sunny and bright
Red is fiery, blue is cool
And green is lush and fragrant
Black is evil, white is virginal
Orange brings to mind the sun
Brown is usually earthy
And gray a bit dismal
But who thinks of the color purple
As anything at all

Purple is cool sue, that's the color of our Baltimore Ravens. Great piece pondering color. I enjoyed it. I know you meant no racial harm in sizing up the color black, however I must remind you that black isn't really a color like other colors. Everyone does have a tendacy to relate it to evil though, even me. Time has taught me not to judge colors for their face value. Evil doesn't come in any particular color. It can show up in any color on the scale. Red symbolizes the devil. Most of our conditioning lies in our brains and up bringing. It's best not to prejudge anything, not even color. l&p G

i stand corrected. when I really think about it, I do think of royalty. thats what i get for dashing off a few lines without giving it proper thought.

well someone told me once
there is a whole religion
based on the color purple

when you reach the pinnacle
of this religion
purple eminates from you
and to you

in this state
you are one in the universe

that's what i think of

thanks,
d.

I love the poem but alas I do think of it as royal and mysterious.
