I sat there with my drink, toying with a straw
I saw him out of the corner of my eye
And just knew
What would be coming before long
It always happens
When I'm really feeling down
WAnting to drown my sorrow
Just sit here all alone
Seems like I'm wearing a sign
Saying come over and say
Something stupid
Ask me my sign
Go ahead I dare you
Here he comes, swaggering
Like a man on a mission
And I try
Without success
To look really busy
Checking my watch,smoothing my dress
Looking every where
Except at him
Maybe he'll take a hint
Maybe he'll see that silence is indeed bliss
Not a chance, here it comes
I wince as his beer breathe hits me
'Hey baby, whats a nice girl like you
doing in a joint like this?'
I look at him in his liesure suit
Brown socks and black shoes
I wonder if it ever works
And why the only guys i meet
Are the one-line,polyester jerks
