I envy girls crying dainty sobs
with a tear in the corner of their eye
I have never learned the art
Of looking good while I cry
My tears come like pouring rain
Wetting my face and then my clothes
I gulp for air causing quakes
From head down to my toes
My nose runs and my face turns red
And my hair gets limp and messy
God forbid I’m wearing white
Or something the least bit dressy
Mascara never stays on my eyes
It runs in rivers down my cheeks
Leaving me looking quite a mess
Covered in ebony streaks
I wipe my face with my hands
And now they too are soiled
So I wipe them thoughtlessly on my skirt
My outfit now is spoiled
I look a total freaky mess
I don’t’ think I have to mention
One thing I never do
Is cry just for attention
