We try Cinquain ... we prepare to spend a day at a one room school and we try our hand at poetry to place with our poppy wreaths on the wall outside our classroom door. The names we are using are the ones for the children we will portray during our visit. As we read Flander's Field in class one child remarked, "this is really a sad poem." It is.

My Great uncle was killed 2:10 pm oct 13 1915 at the battle of Loos,
Same day as Kipplings son in the same battle, due to lack of a smoke screen...
