A little away from my norm with this poem. Maybe a little too much horror movies for me...:) Hope you like it.
The leaves rustled over
The cold ground
Shadows danced
In the winter wind
I hear it
Something sinister
Behind me
There it sat
Dark and waiting
I knew it wanted me
Aloof in the darkness
Biding its time
He dares not approach
He knows the cost
Outcast and weary
Of waiting for its prey
It creeps out
Ravaged with hunger
It smells tender flesh
Aching to go nearer
The predator slinks closer
I am captured by his mind
Knowing it needs me
Wants me
It waits no more
My flesh crawls
With the feel
Of his hands
His breath on my
Neck
He glares into my eyes
Searching for sweet fear
His hands gliding
On bare flesh
At the nape
Of my neck
Knowing his place
He bores into my mind
Possessing my soul
Naked fear prevails
As his icy cold fangs
Pierces the warmth
Of my waiting flesh
My scream becomes one
With his soul
And all is ....lost
lots of suspense and tension in this poem ... very different from your usual poetry ... nice pace of change, Linda ...

It was good. I'm not much on this side of the mind. I wanted to tell you though that the picture brought to mind a youngster playing a hiding game on his mom and with a little work on the ending it would make a great little spoof. Lady J
This piece has a definate erotic charge to it. There is a multi-level Jungian sense of the oneness and interaction of male/female, ego and Id and good and evil. Cool write. Malcolm Watts
Excellent job with this and that's an awesome picture. The imagery was outstanding. I could smell the fear and feel the rush of adrenalin. Good one my friend. Always, Paul.
Ooh, what a write! Chilling with details! Great imagery, had me looking over my shoulder! Enjoyed! Diversity is a great quality!
