This is really cute. The problem is universal. In college I knew of a student, an electrical genius, who rigged up shockers so that squirrels would get the message when they got too close to the bird feeder. We had one hanging from a small tree limb and our neighborhood squirrel would hang by his rear legs to get to the place where he could pull seeds out with his tongue. A former secretary of mine tried to feed the birds in her back yard. Of finally, she gave up in and started the squirrels. Up every afternoon around four o'clock about fifty squirrels would show up for their feeding.

I hear you Anna, I now have to take my humming bird feeders in every night, as something (racoon I suppose) dumps them every night. I do love those fine featherd friends!

Oh, yeah, what you need is a Mr. Kody to chase those squeaky, pesky squirrels out of your yard. And no doubt about it, Kody loves chasing squirrels.

I remember how clever those little fellas can be from when I had my house, but you know to sit out in the yard and watch them can be quite entertaining as they put on some amusing acts.

Nice one Anna, If that works, you better patent it.

I've been hanging my bird feeders from a long wire, trying to keep the squirrels away from it, but they figure out a way to get to it. I watched one jump from a higher location probably 10 feet away. If they are that ingenious, I say they deserve a little treat. Dick
