'She is laid out in the family crypt'

Poem Artwork

Street brawl- Capulets and Montagues

Prince of Verona butts in, glass jaw

Count de Parasites is hot for Capulet’s

daughter who’s 13- hand that rocks the

cradle . . .

The daughter blow-flys-the coop- gives the

old perv the slip; enter stage left Romeo

oh Romeo, wherefore art thou (that’s the

way they conversed back then); head over

heels . . .

Capulet’s daughter and Romeo do the balcony

scene- “You are the sun, blah, blah, blah”

“Here’s the ring, let’s get hitched;” Friar

Laurence smoothes things out with the two

families . . .

In her chambers later on, consummate their

love- “Oh baby!” Capulet’s daughter takes a

drug that lasts 42 hours unbeknownst to Romeo

She is laid out in the family crypt; he buys

poison . . .

Was a placebo- she thinks he’s dead (oh, boy)

Shivs herself, he takes the rap; goes up the

proverbial river; new prison stripes at Joliet

Gets life; put in solitary; Moral: “Shiv and

learn . . .”

Hilarious comment on a great tragedy, Lance. Wait a minute--what is great about a tragedy? Oh yes, it is a catharsis for the soul. I love this one!

Lance,
Kate's right, this is a 'sassy spin' delivered with panache. Another cloudy morning (but no rain unfortunately) in Singapore but you've just cleared the sky. Thank you.

love has a retake on the remake
endings of death in the young
forsaken by the eyes of an elder
like rockin the hand on that cradles song
we should never mind where that all came from
but learn we shall indeed

I think my cross-Atlantic insoucience is missing a coupla threads here, Lance, but I get the general drift, if not the acute subtleties. Makes me think how many young ones are similarly "double-crossed" when they end up partaking of drugs in the party culture. I guess that's how some of these freak accidents happen... Like this sassy spin for our times. Kate xx
