I know this is nonsense... ...at least, I think it is. It emanates from a dream I had recently.

Dreams Sub Aqua


On the bottom of the rill
Amidst icy water chill
I am filled with such a thrill

On the bottom of the brook
I spot a fisherman's hook
In its crook I hook a book

On the bottom of the creek
My outlook is not so bleak
There's no way to spring a leak

On the bottom of the stream
It is pleasant like a dream
I can't hear a single scream

On the bottom of the pond
Of the mud I grow quite fond
The frogs and I form a bond

On the bottom of the lake
I cannot feel the earth shake
When I wake I bake a cake

At the bottom of the cove
The algae have grown a grove
A fine place to find a trove

On the bottom of the bay
I meet a girl from Bombay
She says she works for Ebay

On the bottom of the sea
Something I did not foresee
I meet a lass named Chelsea

When I wake up from the dream
Chelsea and I are a team
We seal the deal with ice cream

Is this a particular style of poetry or just a pattern/structure you came up with? Sometimes throughout the poem the rhythm/flow seems off to me... I don't really think it's a nonsense poem. It's playful and it certainly brings the smiles. And I think we can draw something from it as well.

One man's nonsense is another man's whimsy! Regis, we should all be so lucky to give in to our dreams with total abandon, and then be able to wake AND remember enough to relay the tale! Ran over a skunk last night with my car, did it ever come home with me with the smell. still on my tires today. Can imagine the muck you picked up from the bottom of the water too. But this write is so magical a write for where it has taken place. Flows along just so. Easily understood.

Beautifully penned. Our dreams are our thoughts, as our words are out thoughts. I came up with a short story while shaving my legs...so nothing is that unusual. Well done.

Very fun, I found myself chuckling as I read it and enjoyed the end. Dreams seem to rarely be so upbeat - - did you emphasize the happy and overlook the dark lurking beyond the next ripple?

Light and carefree. I had to become an imaginary diver to I could view all those scenes from the bottom of the various aquatic pools. Fun, until the dream ended. LOL

A dream worth having, Regis! Loved the twist at the end... Dreams DO become reality, after all! But yes, the underwater worlds are very appealing in dream form and we can experience much liberation through exploring their potential. Like thinking about things upside down... I would lie on the floor when young and imagine turning the house upside down and walking about on the ceiling! And Chelsea sounds very suave. Perhaps, even, an Owl and the Pussycat scenario??
