I wrote a series of poems about the war and the futility of it, in my opinion. This is one of them.
TEARS Tears running down his cheeks, The soldier mumbled Under his breath: “If the President goes with me On these rides, I’ll serve another 15 months Without my salary!” Tears of frustration, Tears of exhaustion, Tears of impotence, In face of the futile war! Another bomb attack! A small boy’s body mangled; An old woman, whose house was invaded, Crying, Impotent tears, Of frustration, Of despair, At the needless, futile war. REA-SILVIA COSTIN, P.E. .2007

Hello Rea,

You wrote this poem with intense pain and frustration, and the only result...tears. No other emotion can be more appropriate for a useless war, and mankind will continue to shed tears in years to come.
