Barbara, I think we need to be aware of ourselves and decide if we need to say something or not and how to say it. If we are angry about something else, then perhaps we need to make sure we do not mix the issues. In general it takes courage to get out of our comfort zone and stick our head out.

"Silence is not Golden" reflects the wisdom of experience. I especially like the line, "There is a way to say whatever should be heard." We men seem to have a real problem with this. Too often we seem to phrase our thoughts in blunt, insensitive words or go off mumbling and griping to ourselves without speaking out when "Silence is not Golden."

A needed, thoughtful piece.

Dear Barbara,

You must have noted that my Blog was not of a very profound nature. Your Poem, is quite another matter. You are right, of course; perhaps you have expressed the quintessence of a wise man who said that before we speak, we must assure that what we are about to say is true, is kind, and is necessary. I rather think if these three prerequisites were met, golden silence would resonate throughout the world.
