the scathed and unscathed attrition of naked hearts bask against the cycles of seasons..........in this place their union resides

~it is not your place to question why~

<><><><>

veins course his blood

now vintage renditions

she pricked her finger

noting the taste - bittersweet

dancing celluloids

drip to her thigh

<><><><><>

his blood courses her veins

congealing replications

he pricked her hymen

noting the religion - solemn rapture

in irreverences

remaining deep

<><><><><><>

their course was blood

sealed for eternity

they pricked the veil

noting realisms - elucidate nature

a pact in prayer

forever combined

It seems a most naturalistic approach to life-juxtaposing religion with the rapturous nature of sexual intercourse. And quite brave! By the time the intensely enjoined couple gets to "a pact in prayer," the link could not be denied. Now, you must believe me when I say I like this one most. It has undertones that when fully understood, could be climatic in nature.

Appreciating your work

Oh, my, Donna, you certainly grabbed my attention with this unique and sensual rendition. I've been paired in union with the same partner for over sixty years, now, so I have a gut-like feeling for your closing phrase, "forever combined."

And in your posted picture, I'm almost sure I see my own image. Oh, well, okay, maybe I've changed a little since I struck such a pose.

A wonderful write, Donna. Now I know where to go when I want originality and class. Your site is much like a plump olive soaking in vintage gin. Did I mention how much I like plump olives?

With respect and admiration,
Richard

Deep and intense and open to poetic interpretation. Two young lovers who cross the line of innocence into and pass the state of pure virginity that cannot be regained. Well written and enjoyable to read.
