I hear the Bluebonnets are blooming in Texas.

Bluebonnet, bluebonnet
on a hill
You are very
quiet and still

Do you long 
for a cool wind
to blow your curls
to make you spin

Or do you prefet
the suns warm glow
heating you up
helping you grow

Do you like rain
going down stem
running over petals
to roots within

I agree with the other Diana (we call each other the ‘other’ Diana) there is such gentleness in your writing. I think you would create some stunningly beautiful Haiku, with your talent for distilling images to the briefest form. Quite effective…..and memorable. ~~ djl

Being from the UK, I had not heard of Bluebonnets...
I have just looked them up...they are quite
similar to our English Bluebells...
I love blue flowers, and they are so pretty...
Your gentle questioning words
create the perfect backdrop for

The bluebonnets may be especially beautiful this year because of the three day freeze and the amount of rain that has been falling in central Texas. We would make an annual pilgrimage to Brennan to see them every year when I still drove my vans. Here is a video that Beh took during our sojourn to Washington on the Brazos in 2015.
