Now let's imagine the replacement of the "y" by a "w" in 'yielded' and the sentence would mean just the opposite of what you meant. You are the unchallengeably defiant magician of hermeneutics, deserving of being refered to as the MERLIN of Meaning.

So true. The Freemasons are still around. Most of the founding fathers of the United States were Freemasons, said to be an offshoot of the Knights Templar. Certainly have yielded power all the way down to the present.
When invited to join the junior version of the Freemasons in high school and later, a fraternity in college, I decline both because I didn't see any value in belonging. Why I left the church in my early 20s, finding there was too much ritual and indoctrination, with two little proof that any of it was worth anything other than power mongering and social climbing.
