Enchanted Land It was just an old license plate From off the back of the camper It was cracked, worn and aged Had seen many a place Came from Albuquerque Nestled in the Sandia Enchanted land Ride the tramway to the mountain top The horizon doesn’t seem to stop. A desert oases Where the Indian And the Mexican Live with the coyote With the Manzano peeping in It’s nuclear secrets buried underneath Where the Horned Toad spits blood out of its eye The Blue Tailed lizard runs by as if it could fly The silky sands blow into every part of the body Many canyons to hike that take you up high Lot's of rocks to throw Be in Santa Fe tomorrow. It something I can’t do justice to describe It’s visions are buried deep in my brain Where many a sand forts were built Sometimes I wonder if remnants still remain Enchanted land Tumbleweed rolls on down that gravel road Like they are chasing those horny toads As long as the wind blows Finding many an arrowhead for my bow There’s lots to do Be in Santa Fe tomorrow Have a license to renew.
