Who are these strangers?
Going about their daily business to and fro
Oblivious of my very being

Are they friend or foe?

I walk the walk amid them
Amongst briefcase and suit and tie
In search for unseen weapons

Forever on the eye

I hide in plain sight
Ill-fitting with the passing throng
Plagued by flashbacks and intrusive thoughts

So real . . . so strong

Lest that ‘morrow
When a harmless word ‘tis uttered
Or simple deed done

When rage doth succumb me

And the bridges burn behind

Ever entwined with the jungle

A bomb

Ticking time
