Poem Artwork

Cold Winds

The cold winds are blowing strongly
Icy shards against my face and nose
Turning my cheeks bright red
Freezing my hands, my fingers and toes.

Old Mr. Sunshine still washes over all
Heating the afternoon in yellow light
Warming the earth, land, and water
Ever busy keeping mother nature bright.

Preparing for the Thanksgiving feast
Memories of Pilgrim and Indian friends
Sharing a sumptuous table of harvested rewards
And giving thanks for blessings without end.

Then the ice and snows shall come
Leaving the land idle with weeds so stout
Until spring brings ripe green growth
And fallow fields begin to show their sprouts.
