Blank pages speak to me, a life unfinished. All I need are the words to tell of what I'm thinking, feeling, but never force the pen. Just stare into that white abyss and wait. Your poetry will come like the beautiful piece above.

Don't think of it as a blank page but a huge possibility.
I must admit that was a cute resignation if in fact that is what it is.

Mary, the title of your poem took me into a whole different direction than you intended. For me it wasn't that your muse had 'gone missing', but rather rekindled in me the 'wonder of that blank page'... I do so love it when the page is empty and I've yet to fill it with whatever pops out of my head.
Also I came to your site because of your reply on another. When asked why I write... you said, "because I can". This started a discussion between my friend and I. I won't go into it here. But you see, you never know where your words will go.

Giggle....this one is tooooo cute, Mary! I've been there so many times...just staring at the paper and nothing comes together. Write on poet!!!

Is that not the truth of what! I think all writers have days when the inspiration just overflows and the next, it can dry up like a corked empty bottle. Very well put and OH, so true! I appreciate your minimalist style on this poem. You say much in a short space.
