A Naga Uta - A WWWorkshop Writing Assignment

The Naga Uta is a syllabic poem with a variation of five and seven syllables per line. The lines vary in this order...5/7/5/7/5/7 -- any length, ending with ...5/7/7

PAINTED IN PEACE

Summer evening time
Blazing sun igniting sky
And to my surprise
Hurling golden magic dust
metamorphosing
all things natural and real
to glowing sainthood
canonized by golden light
softened, touched by God
in particulates of gold
immortalizing
the setting sun forever
painted on my soul in peace.
