Winds strum music
on leaves like harp strings.
Hymns ricochet through forest.
Sun sings soprano; birds chime alto.
Bees punctuate, humming low
‘til fading sun bows
in beauty.
Up north, we could travel in virtully any direction and eventually come across a weedy trail with no "No Trespassing" signs. Pulling over and abandoning the truck for awhile, we'd stroll across fields and through woodlands, just pleased to be somewhere different with no other signs of human life aside from the trail itself. Here in Florida, no matter where we go, there are already a hundred-plus cars parked nearby, a hundred-plus people making noise never far away, and visible soda cans, beer bottles, condoms, food wrappers, burnt out sneakers and what have you pretty much every yard of the way. Thank you, if just for a moment, for allowing me to relive nature as I've come to love and adore it. Let's not turn the rest of America into a huge party place and public trash dump.
Explore the mystery of how nature makes unexpected gifts of creative wonders to an unsuspecting caregiver one late night and early morning in southeastern Georgia, USA.
